The New Thing God is Doing

O God, from my youth you have taught me,
and I still proclaim
your wondrous deeds.
(Psalm 71:17, NRS)

Good Morning,
This is birthday weekend for us. My mother-in-law celebrates her birthday today and my father celebrates his birthday on Sunday. They both have demonstrated how to move forward through the seasons of life with an active commitment to making a difference in the world.

As we add years to our life, we are called to continue to move forward rather than find ourselves stuck in the past. It is easy to focus on our past circumstances, dreams, and hopes. We must let go of the past, including the things held close to our heart, in order to see the new beginnings that God continually creates within our life.

Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up, do you not perceive it?
(Isaiah 43:18-19).

The Psalmist confessed an ongoing commitment to God:

O God, from my youth you have taught me: We are created to be life-learners.

Do you seek God on a daily basis to learn something new about life?

Evaluate the life-principle God is teaching you today.

And I still proclaim: We are created to continually proclaim the presence of God. In other words, we have the opportunity to communicate a message about the abiding presence of God through our words and actions. Seeking God on a daily basis produces a fresh, new life message to proclaim.

Do you communicate your life message with a fresh new perspective every day?

Your wondrous deeds: We are created to see beyond ordinary circumstances to see the interactive presence of God. The Apostle Paul prays for the eyes of our heart to be enlightened in Ephesians 1:18.

Do you see His wondrous deeds today through a fresh, new perspective?

Refuse to be stuck in your circumstances.
Refocus your perspective. Look beyond yesterday to see the new thing God is doing today.
Learning with you to experience the new thing God is doing,
Kerrie
