Bottom Of The Barrel Day

In all things we are more than conquerors
through him who loved us.
(Romans 8:37).

Good Morning,

A friend of mine will face an impossible situation today. There seems to be no way out. All resources are depleted. All seems to be lost. All possible solutions have been tried. There is no apparent way out. My Grandmother would have said, "It is the bottom of the barrel day, nothing is left." A "bottom of the barrel day” occurs when seemingly nothing is left, everything that matters appears has disappeared.

The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Roman church from a prison cell. He explained the potential of a bottom of the barrel day (Romans 8:37) when we live in and through the power of Christ:

In all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us: The word, “in” describes an interaction occurring within “all things.” God has given us the ability and resources to interact in every situation and with all people through His power. In other words, we are strengthened through His power, enabled to do more than can be asked or imagined (see Ephesians 3:19-21).

Difficulties and challenges never constrain or restrain the power of God within us. We are enabled and strengthened to conquer all things. The power of God interacts within a bottom of the barrel day. God creates something new out of nothing.

An ending becomes a new beginning.
Emptiness is exchanged for fullness.
Suffering is transformed into joy.

Learning with you to experience the power of God
in the bottom of the barrel days,
Kerrie
